Way to become whodunitdr! Even though I tweaked a teeny past using fresh ginger and garlic and fillets instead of steaks, I am giving this recipe a resounding five stars! This dish is CLEAN and perfect. Very refreshing to try a seafood marinade that isn't afraid to let you lot sense of taste the seafood. Buy good fish and apply this recipe. Thanks!

It was very good. I'll make this once more, with these small-scale changes, from the recipe & from what I did: add a piddling more cayenne & perhaps ginger (both of which I couldn't taste); add one-two teasp. brown saccharide for a sweetening & caramelizing effect; marinate ii hrs.; sprinkle med. coarse sea common salt on the pare (of fillet) just earlier grilling; and cook on a MED. grill equally recipe indicates. What happened this time was I marinated for 4 hrs. and cooked it on a med.-low heat, when recipe asked for marinating 1 hour & grilling on MED. estrus; these ii factors led to a slightly too-dry salmon! Then, I need to make this again.

Very skillful marinade, although I will marinade it longer side by side time and utilise more lime juice too. Thanks for the recipe!
05/14/2009
Delicious! It gave the meat a slightly spicy, tangy and sweet coating! I added just a pinch of red pepper flakes, and in the time to come I would as well add a compression of table salt - but this is personal preference. Started cooking pare side down (oven under broiler, got rained out), flipped and poured remaining marinade over, and finished cooking. Now the confession - I didn't utilise salmon. I used chicken thighs! It would be phenomenal on salmon. If y'all really want a lime boot, squeeze some freeze juice on top of your plate. Mmmmm. Thanks!
06/05/2008
Very good, I should take marinated it longer than the hour, the lime flavor didn't come through quite enough for me but the spices were delicious!! Will make once more!!
08/07/2010
was really good...i folllowed the recipe as is and used some ideas from other reviewers...i was non disappointed...will forsure brand this once again...thanks for the recipe...
03/24/2011
A chip too much spice- next fourth dimension I'll one-half the cayenne pepper and maybe add a flake more lime- simply besides that this i is definitely a winner
09/19/2009
This has become my go-to salmon recipe. I don't always marinate for the full hr, and instead wrap the salmon in aluminum foil and grill with a footling extra marinade in the packet. Makes for less clean-up, no need to worry about flaking apart on the grill. Delicious and unproblematic!
05/17/2011
This is a great summertime marinade. It wasn't overbearing and the salmon was nevertheless able to brand an appearance. I marinaded for a couple hours before baking and the terminal production was oh so juicy. Cheers for sharing such a delightful recipe, I volition continue to employ this in my kitchen.
07/21/2008
This was a very disappointing marinade. Lime does non accentuate the flavor of salmon. We won't be making this again.
ten/11/2011
At that place did non seem to be a lot of flavour added by the marinade. I have deleted this recipe
05/31/2011
I used the same marinade but sauteed it on the stove. Next time I hope to be able to marinate it for more than 10 minutes!
06/16/2010
This was first-class! I didn't measure out the marinade ingredients, but I'g pretty good at eyeballing things, then I'one thousand sure I got the proportions at least close to correct. I used salmon filets instead of steaks, because that's what I had on hand. I baked these instead of grilling considering I was too tired after work to stand over the BBQ. It took virtually twenty minutes at 400 degrees F to cook four 7-ounce filets. The lime flavor came through exceptionally well, even after only about 45 minutes marinating fourth dimension, and so I'm non sure why other reviewers had trouble with there not being enough lime flavour. The only thing I needed to add was a little salt to each portion. Thanks, whodunitrdr, for a great, unproblematic salmon recipe!
03/16/2010
The flavor that this marinade imparts to the salmon is very subtle, not that that's a bad matter. I followed the recipe to the letter, with the exception of using fillets. Next time I would choose fresh ginger and garlic, only otherwise wouldn't change a matter. Thanks for sharing the recipe!
07/08/2010
Overall, a expert mix of flavors. To infuse with more lime, add the zest. To remainder the overwhelming tartness, I added honey and soy sauce. And for heaven'south sake, don't throw away the marinade! Reduce information technology in a pan and drizzle over the grilled fish for extra flavor.
05/04/2011
We added 1 T extra of fresh lime juice and a sprinkle of garlic powder. We served it with a rice pilaf and green beans. Very enjoyable.
09/11/2012
Very light and refreshing - much better than the last salmon recipe we tried. Based on reviews, I used 3 limes which equalled i/3rd cup and for the rest, I followed exactly. I marinated 2 larger pieces of salmon for near 3 hrs and and so grilled. Needs a flake of finishing common salt (I used celtic sea common salt which was a bith bawdy and goes well with lime). Next fourth dimension I volition increase everything a flake except the oil. Served with a lemon based bean salad and a fresh gyre.
08/13/2008
I am non addicted of fish, merely Homo these tasted amazing. Thanks for the recipe!
05/17/2012
Tasty. I added about a tbsp of brown carbohydrate to this to help with the tangy-ness and a tsp of soy sauce for a fleck of salt. Very proficient recipe, thank you:)
09/11/2010
This recipe was ok, probably non making information technology again. The salmon didn't have much flavor, even later marinating 3 hours. I used salmon fillets, otherwise didn't modify anything. My recommendation would be to save some of the marinade, boil information technology and serve over the salmon.
08/17/2011
This recipe is fantastic. Fresh and lite, not as well spicy, just perfect. I did use fresh garlic and ginger in place of ground, and I marinated Halibut filets, not Salmon. This was simply correct for my expensive fish - complimented the season of the Halibut beautifully without overpowering or drowning it in a heavy sauce. Marinate no more than 2 hours. Thanks for an astonishing recipe! :)
08/15/2011
This was very tastey, my family as well liked it!
09/17/2010
Amazingly delicious!
04/19/2011
My husband and I really enjoyed this marinade. I used Boars Head deli style mustard as I did not have any Dijon. I too cooked it on the bbq using a cedar plank. It turned out great! I served information technology with grilled zucchini spears. Great combination!!
05/06/2012
This was tasty. I added actress lime juice (about 1/3 cup total) considering people recommended it...and information technology seemed to be too much. I marinated for ane.v hours and then broiled the fish.
11/08/2008
I'm so glad I found this recipe! My husband, who doesn't really like fish, said he would eat it more often if I cooked it like this all the time. I fabricated information technology several times already and sometimes I utilise lemons if I'yard out of limes. I also bake the fish in the oven instead of on the grill exterior.
08/07/2012
Quite tasty. I gave it no time to marinate and it still was very flavourful on fresh salmon steaks. If I marinated it I can not imagine how much better it would accept been.
02/27/2013
I didn't accept cayenne pepper... merely I don't know how much that would have inverse things. It seemed tasteless after an 60 minutes of marinating.
08/01/2009
This is actually fantastic. I omited the ginger every bit I didn't have that on hand. I baked in the oven and it was perfect. Thanks for sharing! I will be using this many times to come.
03/08/2009
This dish came out very adept! I couldn't taste much of the lime, but all the other spices tasted delicious.
10/20/2008
Left out the ginger because we didn't accept whatever, only glad we did--it would've been an odd flavor with the rest of the ingredients. Loved the bit of spice! Doubled the juice, oil, and mustard called for based on previous reviews.
08/21/2012
I used a fleck more lime juice and marinated this for more than 2 hours after reading reviews that said the season isn't very strong. Overall, information technology was very good but nosotros still wanted a bit more lime season. This is a great recipe if you dearest the natural flavor of salmon.
12/10/2009
Wonderful recipe. I loved it. First, I was skeptical, but when I cooked it twice, I appreciated whoever came upwards with it.
x/14/2009
Made this to serve to guests and was told it was the all-time salmon they'd ever tasted. I used a special aluminum sail (for grilling) on the grill and information technology did stick a bit, but next fourth dimension will spray it with PAM first. Many thanks whodunitrdr!
08/07/2008
Very good! The trivial fleck of spice really made this salmon!
06/xvi/2008
Skilful recipe, brings out the gustatory modality of the fish nicely. Needs a little longer to marinade.
06/11/2009
Nosotros added fresh dill, made a little actress marinade and spread on as it grilled. Loved it!
05/03/2011
It was good, just really didn't impart much flavor or spice to the salmon steaks. I wonder if it was the quality of the salmon? Anyways, information technology is a skillful marinade, next time I will cull fresh salmon and not previously frozen.
10/30/2009
This was a very tasty way to exercise a "depression fat" salmon recipe - no butter! The salmon had wonderful flavors, none seemed overpowering - but you could taste them all. Used fresh ginger and garlic. Thanks!
08/14/2010
Very enjoyable. Bf didn't even notice the mustard and he told me information technology was very proficient. Score! (he thinks he hates mustard so it's always heady when I tin can secretly go him to swallow it. Very evil, that's me.) This is very light and refreshing. I used my indoor grill to grill the salmon and they were very thick pieces, and then it took me a lot longer than the recipe states, merely I think of recipe times as guidelines anyway. ;o) I served with carrots and saffron rice. An all around success! Thanks for the recipe, whodunitrdr!
10/24/2009
Very squeamish. I fabricated this the other dark using a salmon fillet. The just change I made was I used a fresh garlic clove that was minced. I poured it over the fillet and allow information technology sit for near xv minutes, and then popped into a 425 convection oven and baked it covered in a casserole dish. Served with basmati rice, oven roasted carrots and mixed veggies. A very nice, quick piece of cake meal. I retrieve the sauce would make a overnice dressing for a salad too.
07/26/2010
Wonderful!!! Used as a marinade when making fish tacos.
07/twenty/2010
I'd give this more than than v stars if I could. Had it the other evening and it was fantastic! I couldn't terminate nibbling as we cleared the tabular array. I didn't make it myself, but the friend who did used chili powder instead of cayenne and used fresh ginger and garlic. Equally my mom used to say, "Nosotros ate the flowers off the plate!"
04/05/2014
This was an easy-to-prepare salmon recipe. I made two modifications; I added i 1/2 tsp of dear to the marinade, which helped the flavour and also with browning as I broiled tithe salmon in the oven (with the leap we've been having, volition we always see barbecuing again ?).
05/14/2010
The marinade itself was very good. It gave a bang-up flavor to the salmon. It also does very well when used with other fish. Possibly adjacent time I will endeavor it on chicken. The thicker the slice of fish you have, the longer y'all need to marinate for. An hr works perfectly for a thin piece just we had a thicker piece and it needed more time. Cheers for the wonderful recipe!
04/18/2010
Great recipe! I've never had grilled salmon before, and idea this was a proficient recipe to offset with. The marinade was actually easy to put together, and the finished salmon was very tasty! The lime season came through well, only it didn't overpower the taste of the fish. I didn't marinade it for the whole hr, because I ran out of time...but information technology however turned out great. Thanks for sharing the recipe...it is very practiced!!!
05/04/2014
I mde it in the oven 25 min at 350. And turned out just fine. I turn it into a sweet and sour. Past adding a tbl spoon apricotjam. Also I did not throw abroad the marinade, I broiled it in the marinade. What volition meliorate information technology to achieve sense of taste I was trying for would exist to reduce the lime (it was just a tiny bit too pronounced) by 25% and I will increase the jam to 2 tbl spoons. Garnished with light-green onions
08/19/2010
Nosotros absolutely dearest this recipe. Information technology's perfect for hot days when y'all want something succulent and gourmet-tasting, only don't want to take to heat up the kitchen. Make the marinade the night earlier to relieve time.
07/25/2009
This recipe is amazing! I used chicken instead of salmon though. I marinated it for several hours then grilled it. It was wonderful! This recipe is a keeper!
04/30/2010
Pretty good, but maybe a little too much lime for my taste. That was well-nigh all that I could gustation!
04/fifteen/2010
This is an excellant recipie, the cayenne pepper was just the right corporeality giving the taste a little naught.
ten/06/2009
good citrus season (added a niggling extra lime) but difficult to grill without sticking and overcooking
03/18/2016
We dear this recipe!!! So simple...the marinade does not overpower the salmon. I usually utilize a piffling extra cheyenne pepper. Before we grill it we wrap information technology in foil. Keeps it moist and after grilling it comes right off the skin. Definitely a keeper!
06/14/2008
Excellent! It'southward got merely the correct amount of spice and tangy-ness. A great summer preparation for salmon!
03/09/2014
ok, a picayune bland.
06/thirteen/2009
I don't like fish, but I loved this recipe. I'm sharing information technology with others and I'll exist making information technology again!
09/15/2019
Used this marinade with swordfish and salmon steaks simultaneously. I tweaked it with a niggling sea salt, a couple shakes of ground turmeric and a few dashes if soy sauce. Information technology came out very dainty- not overpowering at all! I really liked it better on the salmon! Easy and very satisfying!
01/26/2009
Excellent! I did use fresh ginger and garlic, and merely had about a half hr to marinate, only it was still total of flavor. Great elementary and succulent recipe! Thank yous!
07/12/2009
Admittedly fabulous salmon recipe...Thank you for sharing.
12/02/2017
Fantastic recipe. The merely thing nosotros changed was using fresh ginger and adding 1 i/two tsp. Would definitely make this again
03/23/2009
It was a spring-storm day that I tried this recipe so I wasnt able to use my BBQ every bit planned. Instead I chopped my salmon into cubed and grilled them on a apartment height. I likewise was out of Dijon and so I used a hot mustard in one-half the corporeality chosen for. It turned out great and had just a bear upon of estrus that my family unit loved. I served the salmon wedges over a greens salad with dried cranberries and sunflower seeds. YUM YUM
07/16/2019
I substituted the black pepper for cerise pepper flakes and spicy mustard with mayo for Dijon since I didn't have any. I also used thinner filets rather than the thicker steaks. I marinated for several hours and this is my new favorite salmon! I thoroughly enjoyed every bite! Thanks for the recipe, I will make this many times.
05/31/2020
This was a huge hit! I will definitely be making it again with salmon and other fish!
05/16/2017
Great flavour and cooked easily.
06/13/2019
As usual, i tweeked information technology some but this was delicious as my base. Thanks very much.
09/23/2016
Made with fresh Coho, marinated for 21/2 hours. I utilise a grill pan instead of BBQ. Just enough background season not to overpower the Coho.
01/19/2019
Tried this. It was good.
03/07/2021
I was looking frontwards to a new approach to baked salmon but this added lilliputian. I didn't utilize cayenne but that should non throw the recipe off. I was very disappointed.
05/31/2020
This was a huge hit! I will definitely be making it again with salmon and other fish!
08/05/2016
Made it with swordfish and double the mustard! It was great with lemon quinoa.
07/fifteen/2018
Very easy to make but takes a little longer to melt then said.
02/eleven/2018
So proficient. Omit oil and add together Worchestire.
04/25/2020
I added 1tsp fresh garlic and 1tsp fresh ginger instead of what was recommended. Also cooked information technology in the oven in a foil pouch with all the marinade. I did 20 minutes at 350, merely the meridian part of the salmon was however a petty uncooked, and so I pulled it out and put it in a small pan on the stovetop with all the marinade. Just cooked it for a few minutes more than. It came out perfect. The fish was moist, and the marinade thickened to a prissy sauce which I spooned over the fish. I accept a cheap pocket-sized electrical stove/oven, so just experiment with the timing. Husband said to make information technology again
06/17/2020
really expert
03/23/2009
It was a jump-storm day that I tried this recipe so I wasnt able to use my BBQ as planned. Instead I chopped my salmon into cubed and grilled them on a apartment superlative. I also was out of Dijon so I used a hot mustard in one-half the corporeality called for. It turned out bully and had just a touch of estrus that my family unit loved. I served the salmon wedges over a greens salad with dried cranberries and sunflower seeds. YUM YUM
